Ludbreg Open University "Dragutin Novak" was founded on 19th of December 1956. Originally, it was an andragogical institution, administered by various committees. In 1960, Mr Dragutin Novak was appointed as the first headmaster, and today, Open University carries his name. At first, the building served the purpose of Ludbreg's community house, while later reconstructions and readjustments gave it it's today's form.
With time, interests and activities of the Open University have also changed: once exclusively an andragogical institution started engaging in various cultural activities. Along educational and cultural activities, "Dragutin Novak" Open University is today acting as a service provider in fields of culture and tourism, and is aiming to support all those interested in cultural and artistic work. Open University "Dragutin Novak" iniciates, and very often champions, the complete cultural life in Ludbreg community.
